About Propel.

What does Propel do?

Propel is an AI partner for UK businesses, based in Grimsby. We find where AI helps your business, build the systems around the tools you already use, and keep them running. The work comes in three stages: Find, Build and Run.

Who is Propel for?

Small and mid-sized businesses across the UK. We know businesses best where an office keeps work moving on site, on the road or on the shop floor, such as cleaning, property maintenance, landscaping, pest control, installation, removals, specialist trades, HVAC, garages, construction and manufacturing. If yours is different, the free 30-minute call is still the place to start.

Who actually does the work?

We do: Jacob and his team. The people you speak to are the people who look at how your work runs, build the system and keep it running. There’s no sales team and no hand-off.

Where are you based, and where do you work?

We’re based in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, and work with businesses anywhere in the UK. Most of the work happens remotely, in the tools you already use. If seeing the work in person would help, we can talk about visiting.

The work.

Is this just a chatbot?

No. We build AI assistants and agents for real tasks, automation that connects the software you already have, and custom software and dashboards. If a simpler fix is the right answer, we’ll say so.

What’s the difference between AI and automation?

Automation follows rules you set: when this happens, do that. AI is useful when a task needs reading, writing or judgement, like drafting a reply or summarising a job. Good systems often use both, and plenty need no AI at all.

Will we have to replace our software?

In most cases, no. We build around the tools you already use, and only suggest something new where it would clearly help.

Who checks what the AI does?

A person approves anything that goes to a customer. AI handles the routine parts, and your team makes the decisions that need judgement.

What happens once it’s built?

That’s the Run stage: ongoing support. We monitor it, fix it, improve it and train your team. It’s agreed separately, and it’s your choice.

Cost and commitment.

What is a Fit check?

It’s the first stage of working together: a paid look at how your business runs and the tools it uses. We find where AI and automation would help, and give you a written plan with a price for anything worth building. There’s no commitment to build.

What does it cost?

It depends on the size of the job, and every stage is priced in writing before work starts. After the call, we’ll tell you what a Fit check would cover and its price. The Fit check then prices anything worth building.

Do we have to commit to anything after the call?

No. If there’s a sensible next step, we’ll suggest it.

Do we have to build everything in the plan?

No. There’s no commitment to build. You can act on the plan with us, on your own, or not at all.

Practical questions.

What happens on the call?

We talk about how your business runs, what you’d like to be easier and whether AI could help. It takes 30 minutes, on Google Meet, and it’s free.

How long does it take?

It depends on how many tools and people a change touches. We’ll discuss timings when we agree the work.

What do you need from us?

Some time with the people who do the work, access to the tools involved, and someone who can make decisions. We’ll be specific about it when we agree the work.

Are calls recorded?

We normally record and transcribe calls so our notes are accurate. We’ll ask before recording starts, and you can say no or ask us to stop at any point.

Still have a question?

Ask it on a free 30-minute call, or email us. Either way, you’ll get a straight answer.
