How it works
Understand first. Then do the work.
Here’s what working with us looks like, from the first conversation to a change your team uses every day.
- Step 01
An introductory call
30 minutes on Google Meet
We talk about how your operation works, what you’d like to be easier and whether we could help put a change into practice. It’s a conversation, not an assessment of your business or a sales pitch.
- Nothing to prepare
- No charge for the call
- We’ll tell you straight if we’re not the right fit
- Step 02
Seeing how the work runs
With you and your team
If it makes sense to go further, we spend time understanding how the work actually happens: who does what, how information moves, which tools and paperwork are involved and where things get stuck.
That means talking to the people doing the work, not only the people managing it. The office, the team on site and the shop floor often see the same problem quite differently.
- Step 03
Agreeing what to change
In writing, before anything starts
We suggest what we think would help most and explain why, in plain language. Sometimes that’s one small change. Sometimes it’s a few, in a sensible order.
- What we’ll change, and what we won’t
- What we’ll need from you and your team
- What it will cost, agreed before work starts
- Step 04
Putting it in place
We do the practical work
We do the setting up, connecting and building ourselves. We try it against real examples from your business, make sure your team knows how to use it and, where it helps, run it alongside the old way for a while so nobody is left without a fallback.
- Step 05
Settling in
Once it’s in daily use
The first few weeks of real use always teach something. We adjust things once the change is part of the working day, so it fits how people actually work. After that, whether you want ongoing help is up to you.
How we approach it
A few things we hold to
Start with the work, not the software
We look at how jobs, orders and information actually move before suggesting any tool.
Use what you already have
If the software you pay for can do the job with better setup, that’s usually the best answer.
Small changes first
A modest change that people use beats an ambitious one they work around.
People stay in charge
Where judgement matters, a person checks it. Automation handles the routine parts.
What it costs
No packages. A clear price before anything starts.
The right change depends on the business, so we don’t sell fixed packages. Once we understand what’s involved, we’ll explain what we’d suggest and what it will cost, in writing, before any work starts. There’s no charge for the introductory call.
What affects the cost
- How many people, steps and tools the change touches
- Whether it’s adjusting what you already have or building something new
- How much setting up, tidying of existing information and training is needed
- Any software subscriptions, which you’d pay to the provider and we’d point out up front
What we won’t do
- Sell you software you don’t need
- Hand you a report and leave you to act on it
- Promise savings we haven’t measured
- Change how your team works without them being part of it
Questions
About working together
How much does it cost?
There are no fixed packages, because the right change depends on the business. After the introductory call, which is free, and once we understand the work, we’ll give you a written price before anything starts. Cost depends on how many people, steps and tools are involved, and whether we’re adjusting what you have or building something new.
Do we have to commit to anything after the first call?
No. If there’s a sensible next step, we’ll agree it together. If not, you’ll at least have talked it through with someone who understands operations.
How long does it take?
It depends on what’s involved. Some changes are quick to put in place; others take longer because they touch several tools or people. We’ll give you a realistic idea when we suggest what to change, before anything starts.
Will it disrupt the business while it’s being set up?
We plan changes around the working week, and where it helps we run the new way alongside the old one until everyone’s comfortable.
What do you need from us?
Some time with the people who do the work, access to the tools involved and someone who can make decisions. We’ll be specific about what we need when we agree the work.
