Working in Yorkshire
Operations help for businesses across Yorkshire
We work with owner-managed businesses across Yorkshire from our base in Grimsby, just across the Humber, helping them work out what would make the day easier and then putting the changes in place.
Who we work with
Businesses where the work happens away from the office
Yorkshire has plenty of businesses where an office keeps work moving somewhere else: property maintenance and facilities firms looking after housing and commercial sites, installers and specialist trades, cleaning companies covering sites across several towns, and manufacturers making things to order.
Work spread across West Yorkshire’s towns, South Yorkshire and the East Riding means people, vans and materials are always on the move. That’s exactly where a changed job or a late order causes the most knock-on calls.
Places we cover include
- Leeds
- Bradford
- Wakefield
- Huddersfield
- Halifax
- Sheffield
- Rotherham
- Barnsley
- Doncaster
- York
- Harrogate
- Selby
- Hull
- Beverley
- Scarborough
- Bridlington
Sound familiar?
Moments that eat into the day
Examples, not a diagnosis. Every business runs differently.
A customer moves Thursday’s job
It’s one change, but it takes a handful of calls and texts to make sure everyone who needs to know does. Someone still has the old time.
Change it once and the people it affects find out.
An order changes after it’s been planned in
The office has the new quantity, but the production plan doesn’t yet, so the shop floor is working to yesterday’s version.
Order changes that carry through to the plan the floor works from.
Photos and notes from site arrive by WhatsApp
They’re useful, but they sit in someone’s phone instead of with the job, so finding them later takes digging.
Updates from site that end up with the job they belong to.
The same details, typed in again
Customer, address and job notes go into the quote, then the job sheet, then the invoice. Every copy is another chance for a typo.
Details entered once and passed along.
“I thought you were sorting that”
Two people each assume the other has it, or nobody owns the step at all, so it waits.
Clear owners for the jobs that fall between people.
The weekly numbers, done by hand
Figures pulled out of different places and into a spreadsheet, usually after everyone else has gone home.
Reporting that mostly puts itself together, so you just check it.
What we do
We understand how the work runs, then put the changes in place.
- We talk. A 30-minute call about how your operation works and what you’d like to be easier.
- We look at how the work runs. We spend time with you and the people doing the work, and look at the tools, sheets and messages you use day to day.
- We agree what to change. We suggest what would help most, in plain terms, with what’s involved and what it would cost, before anything starts.
- We put it in place. We set things up, connect and build what’s needed, show your team how it works and adjust it once it’s in daily use.
- 01
Sort out the process and who owns it
Fewer steps, cleaner handovers and a named owner for each one, so work stops waiting on assumptions.
- 02
Keep the schedule in step
One plan the office and the team can rely on, where a change reaches everyone it affects.
- 03
Connect the tools you already have
Your job system, accounts, calendars and spreadsheets passing details to each other, so people don’t have to.
- 04
Take repetitive work off people
Reminders, updates, paperwork and reports that happen on their own, with people checking what matters.
- 05
Build a simple tool where nothing fits
If off-the-shelf software doesn’t suit the way you work, a small tool built around it might. Only where it makes sense.

Do you work across the whole of Yorkshire?
Yes. We work with businesses across West, South, North and East Yorkshire, and further afield across the UK. We’re based in Grimsby, so Yorkshire is close to home. Introductory calls are on Google Meet, and if seeing the work in person would help, we can talk about visiting.
We’re a small team. Is this for us?
It can be. Many of the businesses we have in mind are somewhere between a handful of people and a couple of hundred. The useful change is often smaller and quicker in a smaller business.
